On December 7, negotiators from some 190 nations will convene in Copenhagen to build the framework for a new climate treaty. Twelve years ago, a similar conclave in Japan — also meeting under the aegis of the United Nations — set out with much the same aim. But that accord, known as the Kyoto Protocol, largely failed to deliver on its primary goal: reducing greenhouse gas emissions by the world's industrial powers.

Fabrinet announced today that it has filed a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission for a proposed initial public offering of its ordinary shares. The offering will include ordinary shares sold by Fabrinet and by certain of its shareholders. The number of ordinary shares to be offered and the price range for the offering have not yet been determined.

(Nasdaq: ARCL), a Dallas-based provider of subscription-based online education services for students K-12, priced 6.3 million shares at $16.50 each on Nov. 19. Citadel Investment Group was "too big too faila distinction that might have forced JPMorgan Chase to lift a trading lockout it imposed on the hedge fund for poaching its staff.
